Fire & Rescue

Are you a firefighter who needs training, or are you interested in becoming a firefighter?

Our fire training division offers fire and rescue training classes to Columbus County. Classes to provide NC Fire and Rescue Certifications (through the NC Fire & Rescue Commission), courses for re-certification, and courses in the latest technology are offered locally on a regular basis.

In-Service Law Enforcement

The Continuing Education and Workforce Division at 全球赌博十大网站 offer Law Enforcement Training for currently sworn police, deputy sheriffs, detention officers, correctional officers, probation officers, and others affiliated directly with law enforcement. Much of the training is mandated by the North Carolina Department of Justice and Criminal Justice Training and Standards Division or the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Training topics range from generic to topic-based classes, which are suitable for all law enforcement personnel. These classes range from legal matters, firearms training, juvenile minority sensitivity training and communication, and observation skills.

Training can also be very specific: Crisis Intervention Training (Mental Health Intervention Education), Speed Measurement (Radar), Drug Interdiction, Firearms, CRDT (control, restraints and defensive tactics), and SCAT (subject, control, and apprehension tactics).
